SCConsortium Objectives
These objectives will be subject to change as government policy is updated.
Objective 1
Establish strategies, structures and values to enable collaboration to take place.
- Establish a commitment to the vision, principles and objectives by Head teachers, Principals, Work Based Learning providers, Support Agencies, employers and other stakeholders fostering the will to work collaboratively.
- Establish Steering and Task Groups with clear terms of reference.
- Ensure Steering Groups commission, monitor and evaluate the activities of the Task groups.
- Address key local delivery issues, including a 14-19 curriculum framework, timetable alignment, transport, policies and procedures.
- Support institutions to share good practice.
- Monitor financial procedures and audit trail.
Objective 2
Maintain access to a wider curriculum embracing academic and vocational pathways.
Objective 3
Provide students with information on the full range of curriculum options and access to independent advice and guidance.
- Ensure students have access to on line and versions of an area prospectus.
- Ensure a variety of Careers information is available to students and parents through their individual schools careers resources.
- Communicate information through Careers events and Open Days.
- Provide time for 1:1 interviews within the personal development curriculum to consider career options.
Objective 4
Collaborate across partner institutions in supporting staff to deliver a first class teaching and learning experience to stimulate and stretch students thus raising achievement.
- Across partner institutions, share good practice in teaching and learning to involve students in active learning and promote a variety of teaching strategies.
- Support CPD activities related to learning and teaching provided by training organisations and Examination Awarding Bodies.
- Promote the of use surveys and focus groups to listen and respond to the student's experience of learning.
Objective 5
What ever their individual choices, ensure that all students are equipped with the skills necessary to enable them to function effectively in adult life and achieve economic well being.
- Support CPD for staff in the development of teaching strategies.
- Encourage personal effectiveness in thinking and learning skills through the personal development curriculum, Individual Learning Plans and target setting
- Support intiatives to raise aspirations and promote progression to employment and Higher Education
