1. The group have been undertaking a project across schools looking at factors which influence student engagement.
- Stage One - observations
- Stage Two - a teaching and learning day
- Stage Three - student focus on effective strategies
- Stage Four - final report and sample materials into schools

3. Mindset and Motivation
The group have looked at the work of Carol Dweck on the entity and incremental theory of intelligence. Students holding the belief that intelligence is malleable are more resilient and perform better in the long run than those who see intelligence as a constant. The group has prepared resources for use with staff, parents and students. Pilot projects are in progress in Bishop Vesey’s School, Sutton Girls School, John Willmott School and Plantsbrook School.
